City of Durham

Durham, NC

Project Description

RAS performed the 2021 pavement condition survey for the City of Durham’s 1,540 lane mile network. The project consisted of a Pavement Condition Index (PCI) Survey and ROW asset inventory on 36,416 traffic signs, 1,075 lane miles of curb and gutter, and 1,229 crosswalk slopes.

RAS delivered a file geodatabase that provided the City with vital information including street name, segment length, surface type, roadway classification, age of surface, PCI, distress decription, and pavement width. RAS met with City Staff to refine budget requirements and develop a 10-year maintenance plan.

After the successful completion of the 2021 contract, RAS was contracted to perform pavement and asset management services in 2024.
